UNIQUE FEATURES

Both Purex units offer;

A dedicated control, monitoring and display system unique to Purex fume extractors. All functions are fully automatic, all the user has to do is set the appropriate airflow on installation. The features of this system are designed to:

  • Lower energy consumption by using variable speed motors and automatic flow control.
  • Increase filter life by using the optimal extraction rate.
  • Further protect people by constantly monitoring exhaust emissions.
  • Interface with other equipment e.g. a laser.

Both BOFA extraction systems combine good filter capacity with high airflows and pressure. This combination makes them ideal for heavy duty applications that generate large amounts of particulate and gaseous organic compounds.

Each system benefits from Automatic Closed Loop Flow Control.

This feature enables the end user to set the required airflow for the application.
The unit will then maintain this airflow throughout the life cycle of the filters.

PRE FILTER SPECIFICATION

Both Purex units offer F8/F9 composite Labyrinth pre-filter.

The pre-filter protects the main filter from premature blockage by capturing larger particles from the
airstream at an efficiency of over 95% at 0.5-1.0 microns. The Labyrinth™ pre-filter:

  • Extends the life of the main filter by capturing larger particles before they reach the HEPA filter
  • Fits neatly under the main filter in integral Purex extractors
  • Graduated fibre matrix delivers excellent particle capture capacity - up to 20 times more than a standard filter
  • Ideal for medium-high volume applications
  • Can deal with sticky or moisture laden particles
  • Contains the particles inside for clean and simple disposal

OTHER FILTER SPECIFICATION

Both Purex units offer;

HEPA Element

Purex HEPA (High Efficiency Particle Air) filter elements are precision manufactured from a pleated material that incorporates reinforcing strips which separate the pleats and help prevent airflow vibration or collapse.
Additionally, air equalisation plates are used between the layers of media to further reinforce the filter housing and to distribute the airflow across the filter to ensure all of the filter media is used.
Filters small particles @ 99.997% down to 0.3 microns in size and adsorbs a wide variety of gases and vapours

Activated Carbon Layer

Purex filters capture contaminant gases from the process by using an activated carbon layer.
Under an electron microscope, the structure of activated carbon shows there are a great number of nooks and crannies and many areas where flat surfaces of graphite-like material run parallel to each other, separated by only a few nanometers or so. These micropores provide superb conditions for adsorption to occur, since adsorbing material can interact with many surfaces simultaneously.
